I was born at a very early age and art has been my hobby for as long as I can remember.

From Drawing on walls and radiators with wax crayons (my parents were not too impressed) to painting with oils by the age of 6. (I'm not saying they were masterpieces, but hey, I was only 6).

I had my first tattoo done at the age of 17 and at that time I did not realise what a big part of my life tattoo's would become.

I opened my tattoo studio some 12 years ago with some guidance from a long standing tattooist called Rob Robinson, my first studio was on the south coast of the U. K. A town called Bognor Regis. the work area was only 2 mtrs by 2 mtrs and had no windows. I worked in that studio 7 days a week for 2 years, wanting to build a reputation quickly. This achieved, I moved to another studio 5 miles further along the south coast.

Big Mick's ultimate studio was as big as my ego. Unlike other studios in the U. K., it was spacious, light and airy, with large settee's in the waiting area. It became a focal point in the town and people travelled from all over the U. K. (and further) for their tattoo's.

I have always considered myself as a tattoo artist as opposed to a tattooist. I DO NOT use stencils or transfers. Preferring to do everything freehand, making every tattoo I do unique in some way.

Having travelled to South Africa some 8 yrs ago, I fell in love with the country and came back every year.

Then I met Lee in Cape Town and my world changed.

So loving the country and Lass from Cape Town, I guess it was only a matter of time, and here I am, Living in Gordon's bay, with the new studio "Ink Envy", everything looking good for the future.
